Family Rooms and Living Rooms
Almost every home has a living room and/or a family room. Because this is where the family hangs out, the TV's in these rooms tend to be the most used tv's in the house. Most of us watch the TV in these rooms almost every day, and for many this is the main TV area. When Audio Video Designs wires a family room or living room, we almost always wire it for surround sound. TV's and other electronic components don't always fit into the decor of a room, so there are several different ways to hide the equipment in a room.
High End Family Room with Revel Speakers and Mac

The family room system is probably the most used TV in the house. It features a Pioneer plasma with Revel speakers. A McIntosh preamp / processor with a multichannel amp drives the audio. Sources are the same as the Media room. Components are hidden away in the cabinet under the TV. The center speaker is also in the cabinet and is finished out by a custom grate done by the cabinet maker.
Parade of Homes
This family room was designed to be discreet and hidden when not in use. The flat panel plasma TV was hidden behind a piece of motorized artwork. The TV was flushed into the rock on the face of the fireplace so eeee When the TV turned on, the picture rolled up automatically. The speakers in this room were in-ceiling speakers, flushed into the ceiling and painted to match the color of the ceilings. The rack of equipment was remotely located to a closet so it would be out of sight. A custom programmed universal remote control provided control of the equipment even when the closet was closed and the art was down.
